December in Sweden: Julfest, Birthdays, Gingerbread Houses - Francesco

29.01.2026

December has been a very cozy month here in Fjället. I had the opportunity to participate in a lot of activities prepared for Mini-Fjallet which were so fun that even Big-Fjallet kids wanted to participate!
The most successful activity was indeed making gingerbread houses! The smell of toasted cookies and sugar was an addictive formula for the little ones, not to mention Big-Fjallet and the staff included.
One of the most heartwarming moments for me personally was on the 10th of December, since it was my birthday. I celebrated with the staff on a fancy Christmas dinner, exchanging gifts and getting to know each other more.
It was a special month since I struggled a bit with my health and family problems, but I never doubted of the support of my colleagues who even sung to me happy birthday in Swedish. Thanks so much for these past months hope to make even more memories with you all!
