My first weeks in Fjället
Hello to everyone! My name is Loukas and I came all the way from Greece! Sweden was familiar to me as I have spent 6 months in Örebro as part of my Erasmus studies. I knew a bit of the language (I am still at the same level hahaha), a few people around and the weather of course. That really helped me moving here again and start a new chapter of my life!
Fjället is great. I love being so close to the children, organising activities and having fun! My main tasks so far have been to participate in school visits, homework help, open evenings and planned activities such as baking and sport events! As you have might noticed, I have taken over Fjället's Instagram account so be prepared for many stories, pics and posts!
I love participating in the rollerskating moments because it is really funny and i would certainly not change the makeup times the tik tok dances and the karaoke nights! My very first days I was anxious to speak and open up, although I am very social. Day by day, I got less afraid to be exposed, to test my limits and communicate more efficiently with everyone. I am still trying and I can promise you haven't seen the best version of me yet!
My social life in Sweden has been very rich and I am not usually home 😅. I put some good effort on meeting people through Erasmus Social Network, connecting with the Greek community and with people from my past. So far it is great and every day I plan so many things that I forget about sometimes! It is all about making good use of your energy and do as you feel. I feel like going out, discovering the city, exploring nature and create fun moments with people!
I really want to finish this blog with some honest inner thoughts. Nothing is perfect and neither are we. Every day I put some effort in social, language, economic and work skills. But that is what keeps us alive, the constant effort and not giving up! I really can't wait to get to know all the children and teenagers even better, share more brilliant ideas and take action! I will for sure get used to the weather and the people as well, I can share enough positive energy with everyone! I really like it here and I want to learn more about the language so I truly experience Sweden to the finest level.
Till then,
Vi ses!
Don't forget to never give up, make memories and enjoy every moment in your life!
